What could be cooler than the chance to party with today’s hottest pop star? Clear Channel Radio, Touchstone Pictures and Fontainebleau Miami Beach are giving a few hundred lucky winners a true “money-can’t-buy” experience with one of today’s hottest rising pop stars, Katy Perry. Earlier this summer dedicated fans tuned-in to Clear Channel Top 40 stations across the country listening for keywords to text in for a chance to win one of 90 highly coveted (all expenses paid) trips to Fontainebleau Miami Beach for “Katy Perry’s Pool Party + Concert.” Additionally, local South Florida radio stations gave away a limited number of tickets. The private event on August 1st will give fans exclusive access to a performance followed by an awesome after party.
The promotion/contest, conceived and executed by Pop2Life, ran for 18 days on 45 Clear Channel Top 40 radio stations. Along with driving valuable tune-in for the radio stations, the contest generated over 3.5 million dollars in media value for sponsors and yielded over a million text message entries and 10,000+ online entries. In addition to the trip giveaways, Touchstone Pictures gave winners tickets to local advance screenings of THE PROPOSAL and provided a grand prize trip to Spain to see a Katy Perry concert with Ryan Reynolds (star of THE PROPOSAL).
“This promotion was a big win for everyone involved, not just the consumers who were lucky enough to score a trip,” said Pop2Life President/CEO Eric Murphy. “It was successful because each sponsor provided a different layer, that collectively and cost-effectively created a higher profile (translation: more valuable) promotion, marketing and PR opportunity,” added Murphy.
