The Evolution of Comic-Con

Over the past three decades, Comic-Con International: San Diego  (more commonly known as Comic-Con) transformed from a one-day mini-convention into an internationally recognized four-day event with an annual regional economic impact of $162.8 million – in short, this is no longer your nerdy first cousin twice removed’s Comic-Con.

At its inception, Comic-Con focused largely on comic books and film and television of the science fiction and fantasy genres. As you may imagine, before the event expanded to include other...

I remember the first time I opened Harry Potter. I was in the 4th grade, and my mother had picked up the book for me from the library. For nearly a month, I struggled with every remote I encountered, button mashing until I could button mash no more. Within a week, I was ready to add channel surfing to my list of activities on Facebook.

Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl

At 9PM, on June 26, I rejoiced as the opening credits of True Blood rolled. I relaxed into my couch with the knowledge that, on Sunday evenings, I would find reprieve. Once a week, my thumbs could take a short break as I tuned in to...

Pop2Life Gives Back!

On Tuesday afternoon, Jeff, Sasha, Levina, Libby, and I left the office early to embark on our first Company Volunteer Day! We volunteered at the West Harlem Community Kitchen, a subsidiary of the Food Bank NYC. While we were there, we helped their staff serve dinner to over 300 clients in only two hours!

Pop2Life created an impressive assembly line that kept clients moving and well fed: Jeff and Levina were on serving duty, plating chicken, rice, and peas onto the dinner plate, which was then handed off to Libby who added the bread and silverware. I was in the back making and...
